In a new interview snippet making waves online, Offset addressed years of speculation that their rift stemmed from Saweetie, who previously dated Quavo and was rumored to have been involved with Offset. The Atlanta rapper shut that narrative down completely.
“It wasn’t about no girl, man. It was somethin’ deeper than that,” Offset explained. “People ran with the wrong story. Me and bruh had our own issues — family stuff, business stuff. Ain’t never been about no woman.”
The real reason behind Migos’ breakup
The Migos split has been one of hip-hop’s most talked-about breakups. After the tragic passing of Takeoff in 2022, Offset and Quavo appeared to be slowly rebuilding their relationship, reuniting briefly at the BET Awards 2023 to honor their late cousin.
Still, Offset admits the tension between him and Quavo took years to mend.
“We brothers at the end of the day. Family gon’ go through sht, but we love each other. It just took time,”* he said.
