50 Cent is opening up about his alleged decades-long feud with Diddy — and according to him, it all started with one uncomfortable moment.
In a new interview on Good Morning America, 50 sat down alongside Alex Stapleton to discuss their new investigative docuseries, SEAN COMBS: THE RECKONING. When asked about the long-running tension between the two music moguls, 50 didn’t shy away from answering.
“What they consider a pre-existing beef, right? For 20 years, right?” 50 said. “It’s me being uncomfortable with [Diddy] suggesting that he takes me shopping.”
Referencing the now-viral stories and accusations that have resurfaced about Diddy over the last year, 50 explained that the two were never friends — and that the infamous “shopping” moment felt like a coded test.
“I looked at it like — it was a tester. Like, ‘maybe you’ll come play with me’ type of thing. It’s not personal.”
Despite claiming it wasn’t deeply personal, 50 has famously trolled Diddy for years, turning their cold war into one of hip-hop’s most consistent — and entertaining — rivalries. As Diddy now faces mounting lawsuits, revived allegations, and a shifting public perception, 50 has doubled down on his commentary with memes and online jabs.
After the GMA clip hit social media, fans weighed in immediately. Many felt 50’s explanation aligned with things he’s hinted at for years, while others pointed out that the feud between the two cultural titans has lasted longer than some rap careers.
Regardless of where the truth lies, the tension between 50 Cent and Diddy remains one of hip-hop’s most enduring — and as new documentaries and allegations continue to surface, the story is far from over.
