Offset is opening up about his regrets in his marriage to Cardi B, admitting that his own mistakes ultimately led to the downfall of their relationship.
During a new episode of Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the Atlanta rapper got candid about the ups and downs of his highly public relationship with Cardi. The two, who share three children, have been separated since Cardi filed for divorce in 2024, and Offset says he’s had time to reflect on what went wrong.
“I should have respected her way more,” Offset confessed. “I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out. Gotta take that on the chin.”
He added that losing Cardi was one of the hardest consequences of his actions.
“That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin. We got our kids to live for. I was being selfish. I can say that as a man — I’m a grown man.”
A relationship lived in the spotlight
Offset also admitted that he wishes their relationship had been more private, saying the constant online drama added unnecessary pressure.
“I wish it wasn’t so much ‘internet stuff’ going on,” he said. “I got out of pocket a couple of times because you feel like you’re getting bullied.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Offset touched on his family life, his struggles with addiction, and the emotional toll of Takeoff’s passing and the Migos’ breakup.
Cardi B’s current stance
Since the March 30 interview, Cardi B has also spoken about the complications surrounding their split. In September, she told fans that their divorce isn’t finalized because Offset allegedly wants “millions” before signing off on the paperwork.
“I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it,” she said.
Despite the tension, both artists appear focused on their careers. Cardi recently released her second studio album, Am I The Drama?, while Offset is gearing up for his next project, expected to drop later this year.
