Nicki Minaj is stirring up social media once again — and this time, she’s threatening to scrap her next album altogether.
On Wednesday (Oct. 15), the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper shocked fans with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), claiming she’s no longer releasing her highly anticipated sixth studio album, NM6, which was originally teased for March 27, 2026.
“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now [JAY-Z],” she wrote, tagging the Roc Nation founder directly. “Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”
Nicki didn’t stop there — she accused Roc Nation of “begging” her to return with a new tour and album, but claimed she refused.
“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ.”
Nicki Minaj vs. JAY-Z: The Ongoing Feud
This isn’t the first time Nicki has taken shots at JAY-Z in recent months. The rapper has repeatedly accused him of owing her $100–$200 million from her alleged equity stake in TIDAL, the streaming service co-owned by JAY-Z and other artists.
Nicki says she was promised a 3% ownership share when the platform launched in 2015 but was offered only $1 million after its 2021 sale to Jack Dorsey’s Square for $302 million.
“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt,” she tweeted earlier this year. “It’s only collecting more interest.”
She even joked that JAY-Z remains in her “Top 5,” but insisted any recovered funds would go toward her #StudentOfTheGame scholarship initiative to help pay off fans’ student loans.
More Shots Fired at Roc Nation
In her latest outburst, Nicki also mocked JAY-Z’s failed Times Square casino bid, writing:
“It was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. Just like the casinoooooooooo.”
Her recent posts also dragged Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, whom Nicki accused — alongside JAY-Z — of “ruining” hip-hop, football, basketball, and touring.
“Dear #JayZ & Desirat,” she wrote previously, “You ruined hip hop, you ruined football, you ruined basketball, you ruined touring, you ruined Instagram, you ruined Twitter. The jig is up.”
She later questioned JAY-Z’s political involvement, criticizing him for his silence during the presidential election:
“That was so kind of President Trump and President Obama to go out and campaign. But what did Mr. Jigga man do to help y’all win the election?”
Her ongoing criticism has only intensified since a recent online back-and-forth with Cardi B, where Nicki posted AI-generated photos of JAY-Z — including one of him in a pink wig and another depicting him as a camel.
Fan Reaction to Nicki’s Album Announcement
Nicki’s announcement that she’s canceling NM6 left fans divided. While some expressed concern for her mental health, others stood by her decision.
“Nicki, take a break from social media and heal,” one fan wrote. “You’ve got a lot going on. Sometimes silence says more than tweets ever will.” Another added, “We riding with you no matter what. Forget the music… what else you selling?”
If she follows through, the cancellation would mark a major shift in Nicki’s career — especially after the success of her last album, Pink Friday 2, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in December 2023, solidifying her as the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums in history.
For now, NM6 remains in limbo — but one thing’s certain: Nicki’s war of words with JAY-Z isn’t over yet.
