The fallout from the YSL RICO case continues, and now fans think they finally have an answer to one of the biggest questions: why did Young Thug cut ties with Gunna?
According to an alleged leaked jail call between Thug and 21 Savage — shared online by outlets like Kurrco — Thugger explained what really bothered him about Gunna’s plea deal.
Why Thug Fell Out With Gunna
Thug reportedly said his issue centers on Gunna’s admission that YSL is a gang and that he knew people who committed crimes in furtherance of it. Thug claims this isn’t true, arguing that Gunna only really knew himself, Yak Gotti, and Duke — none of whom committed crimes.
According to Thug, Gunna’s statement is what turned the situation into a full-blown RICO case.
Thug also accused Gunna of taking the plea “for a woman and for money,” further souring their relationship.
21 Savage’s Response
During the call, 21 Savage defended Gunna, pointing out that his statement about guns and drugs found in a shared car was simply him saying they weren’t his. But Thug countered that the damage was already done — and noted that artists like Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and Future cut ties with Gunna before he even spoke out publicly.
Bigger Picture
This latest leak comes after months of back-and-forth snitching allegations across Atlanta. While Gunna’s lawyer insists his Alford plea did not hurt Thug’s case, the perception in the streets has been harder to shake.
Whether or not this call is authentic, it highlights the deep fracture within YSL and the wider hip-hop community — where accusations of “snitching” still carry heavy weight.
