The wave of leaked jail calls from Young Thug has already shaken up the hip-hop world — but his alleged comments about Future might be the most damaging yet.
Fans have been bracing for more revelations after clips of Thug criticizing artists like Lil Durk, Gucci Mane, Migos, and J. Cole began circulating. Rumors even suggest there’s an unreleased call where he goes in on Drake for nearly half an hour. But the one name fans were hoping would never surface in the leaks was Future, Thug’s longtime collaborator and friend.
Unfortunately, according to audio shared by DJ Akademiks, Thug allegedly had harsh words for Pluto. In a three-minute conversation with his girlfriend Mariah the Scientist, Thug questioned Future’s role as a father, labeling him closer to a “deadbeat” than a family man.
He specifically referenced Future’s seven children with multiple mothers — including his son with Ciara, who is now being raised by her husband Russell Wilson. Thug even noted the recent reports that the boy’s last name was legally changed from Wilburn to Wilson.
Thug contrasted Future with legendary singer Bob Marley, saying Marley had many kids but was still a “real father.” He added:
“He wasn’t disgraceful to women. Women wanted to have his kids. Pluto is like you pushin’ the P… but you still gotta be 100% locked in with the kids. You’re like 100% locked in with the btches. That’s the wrong way to go.”*
According to Thug, he personally shifted his lifestyle when fame hit, moving away from women to focus on his career. He accused Future of doing the opposite.
The comments are hitting fans particularly hard given Thug and Future’s history. The two not only enjoyed one of the strongest runs of chemistry in trap during the mid-to-late 2010s but also released the joint project Super Slimey in 2017 — a fan-favorite collaboration.
With backlash mounting from his leaked remarks about multiple artists, this Future call could mark a major turning point in how peers and fans view Thug. Whether Future responds publicly remains to be seen, but the fallout from this leak may be the most explosive yet.
