Over the past week, multiple clips have surfaced online of Thug making harsh comments about fellow artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Gunna, Gucci Mane, Migos, and more. One of the most talked-about clips included Thug insulting GloRilla, calling her ugly and undesirable while mocking her looks.
Hours later, Thug took to Twitter himself to issue a direct apology:
“@GloTheofficial first of all I’m sorry to u for my words and I honestly don’t think ur ugly at all, I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life.. I don’t like bashing girls and hardly ever did.. I’m sorry to u twin.”
The apology marks one of the rare times Thug has directly addressed any of the leaked clips. Previously, he only responded to criticism after being accused of questioning Lil Durk’s OTF camp in a call, while dismissing other audio leaks as exaggerated or taken out of context.
For now, the apology seems to have closed the chapter on his brief dust-up with GloRilla, who has otherwise been focused on her new relationship with NBA star Brandon Ingram. Still, with more clips continuing to surface, fans are watching to see if Thug addresses the other controversies tied to his alleged phone calls.
Whether or not he clears up the rest, this moment shows that Thug is at least willing to walk back his words when they cross a line.
