After a tense three-day trial, superstar producer Metro Boomin has been cleared of all allegations in a civil rape case. On Thursday, Sept. 25, a jury found him not liable on all four counts, marking the end of a high-profile legal battle that had the music industry’s attention.
Jury clears Metro Boomin on all counts
The jury deliberated for less than two hours before reaching its decision, ultimately ruling in Metro’s favor on the following causes of action:
- Sexual assault
- Sexual battery
- Ralph Act
- Gender violence
Speaking outside the courthouse, a visibly relieved Metro told reporters, including legal journalist Meghann Cuniff: “I’m blessed and glad the truth prevailed.”
The allegations
The lawsuit, filed last year by Vanessa LeMaistre, accused Metro Boomin of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel room back in 2016. She alleged he gave her a half Xanax pill and a shot of liquor before the alleged assault, claiming she later became pregnant and ultimately terminated the pregnancy.
The case officially went to trial on Sept. 23, with both LeMaistre and Metro taking the stand. After earlier settlement talks fell through, the jury’s decision put a definitive end to the claims—clearing the Atlanta producer of wrongdoing.
What’s next for Metro Boomin?
With the lawsuit now behind him, Metro Boomin is expected to shift focus fully back to music. Widely regarded as one of the most influential hitmakers of the last decade, the producer has worked with artists like Future, Drake, The Weeknd, and 21 Savage. His legal win now paves the way for him to continue dominating the charts without the cloud of litigation.
