Drake Appears to Diss A$AP Rocky and Others on Leaked “ICEMAN” Snippet

Even while fighting legal battles and public scrutiny, Drake is reminding everyone that he’s still focused on the music — and his next album, ICEMAN, sounds like it’s coming with plenty of smoke.

Following the recent dismissal of his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), Drake is now teasing a fiery new snippet from his upcoming project. The leaked track, captured by Hip Hop All Day, features The Boy delivering what fans are calling a series of subliminal disses, potentially aimed at A$AP Rocky and other rappers.

“Talk about Drake and you get a whole lot / Talk about Drake and you get you some streams,” he raps over a cold, menacing beat.

The line instantly sparked debate online, with fans on X (formerly Twitter) joking that Drake might be referencing his legal drama — suggesting, “Talk about Drake and he’ll sue you next.”

But beyond the humor, others think he’s taking direct aim at A$AP Rocky, especially given the song’s next bar:

“Man how the fck is your day one gonna testify so you can sit in a box / Either you ain’t never did sht for your brothers or they must’ve forgot.”

Many listeners believe this is a shot at Rocky’s A$AP Relli assault case, where his longtime friend and fellow Mob member accused him of shooting a firearm during a 2021 altercation.

Fans Speculate It’s About A$AP Rocky

The lyric about a “day one testifying” has fans drawing parallels to the tension within the A$AP Mob, particularly after Rocky addressed the group’s fallout in interviews.

“I played a father figure for a lot of these guys despite us being close in age,” Rocky told ELLE Magazine earlier this year. “It’s different when people are sleeping on your floor and you’ve got 13 people in a one-bedroom apartment. So, I look at it as my children just being rebellious.”

If Drake’s line really is directed at him, it’s the latest in a long string of subtle jabs the Toronto superstar has thrown at peers in recent years — often choosing the studio over social media to make his point.

Drake’s Legal Loss & Upcoming Album

The timing of the snippet is also noteworthy. It arrives just days after Drake’s federal lawsuit against UMG was dismissed. The rapper had accused his own label of promoting Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” — which labeled him a “certified pedophile” — but the judge ruled the lyrics were “nonactionable opinion.”

Despite the courtroom L, Drake seems determined to keep fans’ attention where he wants it — on ICEMAN, his ninth studio album and one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

While there’s still no official release date, Johnny Manziel recently hinted that the album could arrive by November, though Drake has yet to confirm. So far, he’s dropped three tracks — “Which One,” “What Did I Miss?” and “DOG HOUSE” — all of which suggest ICEMAN could be his most introspective and icy record yet.

If this snippet is any indication, Drake’s coming back swinging — lawsuits, disses, and all.
