In the newest string of stories tied to the already popularized and number one show on Netflix, the plot continues. With the release of it on December 2, it has easily been the discussions of much mixed reaction when it comes to the show. It was already foreseen that it could lead into legal issues of the matter that is discussed in the show and the criticism and comments being made by others. With already the known drama that P. Diddy and 50 Cent have had, his participation in production of it, it has made him a target in this whole situation too and many calling his behavior low and downright wrong, from artists like Ja Rule and Dame Dash. Also adding his team commented about, “It is both incredible and disheartening that Netflix granted creative rein to an individual who harbors a personal vendetta,”. Aiding in the fact that many agree about 50 Cent should not be involved in this project about P. Diddy.
Now, sticking to what already P. Diddy and his legal team have called “smear piece” against him and his life. In recent reportings, P. Diddy along with his family, have prepared to sue for “defamation” for $1 billion dollar in damages. With him accusing Netflix of spinning the narrative and using illegal footage, he could have a strong case against him. His team made a statement to the “Hollywood Reporter” and said, “Netflix’s so-called ‘documentary’ is a blatant attempt to harm Mr. Combs’ reputation. The teaser featured on GMA highlights the fact that Netflix relied on appropriated footage. This footage was never authorized for public disclosure. Since he was just 19, Mr. Combs has been gathering material to narrate his own story. It is not only fundamentally unjust but also illegal for Netflix to exploit that content.” P. Diddy also continuing to state it is about his legacy and how he will be seen and wanting to rectify that.
