Anthony Joshua completed his mission Saturday night, stopping Jake Paul via sixth-round TKO in front of a sold-out crowd at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
The two-time heavyweight champion (29–4, 26 KOs) methodically broke down Paul (12–2, 7 KOs), landing 48 of 146 punches and gradually asserting his size, power, and experience. Joshua started patiently, allowing Paul to move and evade early before closing the distance and finding his timing.
Paul managed just 16 landed punches and spent much of the opening rounds circling away from danger. That approach unraveled in the sixth, when Joshua finally connected with a crushing right hand that changed the fight and led to the stoppage.
Despite the decisive ending, Joshua was respectful afterward.
“What I could have done better is a lot of things, 100%,” Joshua said. “The expectations we put on ourselves are immense, but I tried my best. Jake did well while it lasted… he has spirit. He has some heart.”
Paul, who later revealed his jaw was broken in two places during the bout, said fatigue played a major role in the outcome. He skipped the post-fight press conference and drove himself to a local hospital for treatment.
“I just got tired, to be honest,” Paul said. “Handling his weight was a lot. If I had better cardio, I could’ve kept it up. He hits really hard. I did my personal best.”
Co-Main & Undercard Highlights
In the co-main event, MVP’s undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner (17–1, 7 KOs) delivered a dominant performance against Leila Beaudoin, retaining her unified WBA, WBO, and IBF titles.
Elsewhere on the main card, combat sports legend Anderson Silva stopped Tyron Woodley via second-round TKO at 1:33, adding another boxing win to his storied career.
Joshua’s victory decisively closes another chapter in Jake Paul’s crossover boxing journey—and reasserts that elite heavyweight pedigree still matters when the punches start landing.
