LeBron James sent the sports world into a frenzy after teasing the “decision of all decisions” earlier this week — only to reveal that it wasn’t about basketball at all. Instead, the NBA icon announced a new collaboration with Hennessy, cleverly parodying his infamous 2010 “The Decision” special.
“I’m taking my talents to Hennessy V.S.O.P.”
In the promo video released Tuesday (Oct. 7), LeBron sits across from an interviewer who sets the scene:
“Well, everyone’s on pins and needles across the country. LeBron, fans want to know where you’re taking your talents this year. What’s your decision?”
With a smirk, LeBron delivers the punchline:
“Man, this is tough. In this fall, I’ma be taking my talents to Hennessy V.S.O.P.”
The parody instantly broke the internet — a playful callback to his 2010 televised special “The Decision,” when he revealed his move to the Miami Heat.
The collaboration
LeBron’s Hennessy V.S.O.P. collector’s edition comes in a vibrant orange bottle that features his signature “crowning” gesture — symbolizing achievement, unity, and celebration.
According to Hennessy, the limited-edition release blends vanilla, mellow oak, and fresh apricot for a smooth, refined flavor meant to “connect, celebrate, and share in a new era of sociability.”
“It’s an honor to continue this partnership with Hennessy,” LeBron said in a statement.
“Our first collection was about a shared pursuit of excellence, and this new edition continues that story. The design features my crowning gesture — it stands for celebration and connection.”
Hennessy’s CMO Vincent Montalescot added:
“This is a tribute to LeBron’s extraordinary journey and a defining moment in the history of sport. It’s a privilege to partner with him in a way that is both genuine and celebratory.”
Still in the spotlight
Outside of his latest business move, LeBron recently went viral for appearing on Kai Cenat’s “Mafiathon 3” livestream, where he surprised fans by cutting Kai’s hair live after the streamer hit one million subscribers.
“It’s gone, champ,” LeBron joked as he finished the cut.
