The P. Diddy docuseries, ” The Reckoning” has made quite a rift in the music and television show since it aired on Netflix. After it hit the number one spot and was more streamed than any other show as of now on the platform. It had 21.8 million views its first six days of the premiere on Netflix. The show has sparked conversation on secrets and hidden truths that are now coming to light in the documentary. Many of the sordid details of deaths surrounding P. Diddy and what he did behind doors now coming to light.
Many do not agree with the release of it and 50 Cent’s involvement in the production of it. Facing a lot of backlash from fellow artists and what his true intentions are of the subject matter in it and his eagerness to do this. 50 Cent is unphased by this and continues to support his side of what he is doing is merely business. It seems that it has reignited an interest in 50 Cent’s music as well. Seeing this for myself, as I attended a concert and they played many of his songs, the crowd singing along happily. Hip Hop All Day reported that December 9, was the most streamed day of his music and showing 11.3 million plays of his music mostly of “Get Rich Or Die Trying” album. Even though he still faces deep criticism on why he created the docuseries and his involvement in it, 50 Cent says, “There’s no place for me, I didn’t make the docuseries. I got the best possible people to make one”. Showing he continues to do whatever he feels is right and unmoved by all the backlash he is facing. Showing he still and will be impactful and a great artist.
