50 Cent Drags Lil Meech After ‘BMF’ Gets Canceled

It’s officially the end of an era for BMF fans. Starz has announced that its hit crime drama, inspired by the real-life story of Detroit brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, will end after its upcoming fourth season. Variety confirmed that the series — produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Films and Television Inc. — has wrapped its final episodes after premiering in 2021.

Since its debut, BMF became one of Starz’s biggest cultural successes, blending gritty street storytelling with authentic casting and a strong hip-hop connection. Starring Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. as his father, the show captivated audiences with its mix of crime, family loyalty, and ambition — themes that mirrored the real-life legacy of the Black Mafia Family.

While the cancellation news left fans heartbroken, there’s still hope. Sources close to production revealed that several BMF spinoffs are currently in development, meaning the universe 50 Cent built may live on in other forms.

As for 50 Cent, he couldn’t resist turning the moment into a meme-worthy moment. The TV mogul took to social media to poke fun at star Lil Meech, sharing a photo of him holding a sign that read “Out of Work” — captioning it:

“What next season little 🥷🏿”

Fans filled the comments section with laughing emojis, praising 50 for his signature humor. “50 never misses with the trolling,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Only 50 could make bad news hilarious.”

Despite the playful jab, 50 has hinted that BMF may continue elsewhere under one of his new production deals. With G-Unit Television expanding its reach beyond Starz, viewers may not have seen the last of the Flenory story just yet.

For now, fans can celebrate BMF’s legacy — a series that not only elevated new acting talent but also reshaped how hip-hop stories are told on television.
