50 Cent is stepping back into the world of blockbuster films — this time joining the cast of a brand-new Street Fighter movie.
The rap mogul announced the news on Instagram, posting the video game franchise’s iconic logo with the caption: “I haven’t been posting because I’m working on my new movie Street Fighter. I’m working what you doing?”
In the film, 50 will play Balrog, the hard-hitting boxer previously portrayed by Grand L. Bush in the 1994 Street Fighter movie and by Michael Clarke Duncan in 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
The ensemble cast is stacked, with Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, David Dastmalchian, and Orville Peck also starring. WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are confirmed to appear as well.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the new adaptation is slated for release in 2026, and it’s shaping up to be one of 50’s biggest film roles in years.
The rapper-turned-actor has built an impressive Hollywood résumé, from his debut in Get Rich or Die Tryin’ to roles in Righteous Kill alongside Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and Southpaw with Jake Gyllenhaal. He most recently appeared in The Expendables 4 (2023) and headlined the thriller Boneyard with Mel Gibson.
Behind the camera, 50 has been just as active. His 50 Cent Action TV channel recently expanded to the UK, offering curated programming and exclusive content, including his Power franchise, backed by Lionsgate’s 1,000-title library.
With Street Fighter on the horizon, 50 Cent looks ready to deliver another knockout — this time in the role of one of gaming’s most iconic fighters.
