Yung Miami Defends Diddy in Letter to Judge Ahead of His Sentencing

As Sean “Diddy” Combs awaits sentencing in October, Yung Miami has stepped forward with a heartfelt letter to the court. In her statement to Judge Arun Subramanian, the City Girls rapper—born Caresha Brownlee—painted a very different picture of the Bad Boy Records mogul than the one often seen in headlines.

Miami, who was in a public relationship with Diddy for three years, emphasized that she could not speak on his past controversies. Instead, she focused on the man she has come to know over the last four years. “Behind the scenes, he was loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging,” she wrote. “He motivated me, believed in me, and helped me grow both personally and professionally.”

She credited Diddy with helping her balance career ambitions with family responsibilities and highlighted the ways he opened doors for Black artists. She recalled her first Met Gala with him, noting how it symbolized inclusion and representation: “That night reminded me that we belong in every room, at every table, and in every conversation.”

The “Can’t F*** With Me” rapper also praised Diddy for seeking self-improvement, pointing to his decision to pursue therapy, anger management, and physical healing. According to Miami, these were genuine efforts, not publicity stunts. “That takes strength, humility, and self-awareness,” she explained.

Miami insisted Diddy is “not a danger or a threat to the community,” describing him instead as a man of God, a father, and a mentor whose presence is vital to his children and loved ones. “I truly believe that he belongs at home, with his family,” she concluded, adding, “Judge… that’s a good man.”

Diddy was acquitted on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges in July but was convicted on two prostitution-related counts. His legal team has argued for a sentence not exceeding 14 months. With sentencing set for October, the court will now weigh the numerous character letters filed on his behalf, including Yung Miami’s passionate defense.
