What started as a throwback story has officially turned into fresh tension. Young Buck and Fat Joe are trading shots once again, years after the height of the G-Unit vs. Terror Squad rivalry.
The renewed friction traces back to comments Fat Joe made on the Joe & Jada podcast alongside Jadakiss. During the conversation, Joe claimed that his crew once beat up Young Buck during the height of the beef between their respective camps. According to Joe, the alleged incident occurred after a show in Chicago, where Buck supposedly harassed him, leading to a brief and unsuccessful confrontation that police attempted — but failed — to shut down.
Young Buck clearly didn’t appreciate the retelling.
Young Buck Responds With “Cappuccino”
In response, Buck dropped a diss track titled “Cappuccino,” accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek music video filmed at Popeyes. Rapping over G Herbo’s “Went Legit” instrumental, Buck flatly denies Fat Joe’s version of events, mocks his appearance with Ozempic jokes, and suggests Joe should stick to podcasting instead of revisiting old street stories.
Throughout the track, Buck paints the alleged fight as either exaggerated or completely fabricated, even joking that he’s fully recovered — if it ever happened at all.
Fat Joe’s Social Media Clapback
Fat Joe didn’t respond with music, but he didn’t stay quiet either. According to Complex, Joe jumped into Buck’s Instagram comments with a dismissive jab:
“Buy his s**t I heard he’s doing baaaad.”
He reportedly followed that up with another message standing by his original claim:
“Nah you know it’s facts but old but fact sorry beloved.”
Young Buck quickly fired back, reframing Joe’s insult as a badge of honor.
“If ‘doing bad’ means owning my masters, dropping independent heat, staying out the way and stacking — then I guess I’m doing baaaad.”
Old Rivalries, New Energy
While it’s unlikely this back-and-forth escalates into anything beyond social media and music, it’s a reminder of how long the shadows of early-2000s rap beefs still loom. What once was a group conflict between G-Unit and Terror Squad has now narrowed into a personal exchange between two veterans with very different perspectives on the past.
For now, it looks like Fat Joe is content letting podcast talk do the talking, while Young Buck is choosing the mic. Whether this sparks another response — or simply fades into hip-hop folklore — remains to be seen.
