NFL star Stefon Diggs is facing off-the-field drama as he prepares to welcome his first child with rapper Cardi B. According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the New England Patriots wide receiver is currently in a paternity dispute with Los Angeles-based model and influencer Aileen Lopera, who goes by Lord Gisselle online.
The Paternity Dispute
Lopera filed a petition to determine parental relationship in Los Angeles County back in December 2024, alleging that Diggs was the father of her then-unborn child.
Diggs responded to the filing in mid-July, stating that he was “not certain” if he is the father. He has requested genetic testing to confirm paternity.
A stipulation signed by a judge on July 17 required both Diggs and Lopera to submit to testing, though it is unclear whether either party has done so or if results have been finalized.
Lopera’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, told The U.S. Sun:
“My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”
Meanwhile, Diggs’ attorney Tullo Mumtaz declined to comment on the ongoing case.
Timing With Cardi B’s Pregnancy
The dispute comes at a delicate time, as Diggs and Cardi B just announced they are expecting their first child together. Cardi revealed the pregnancy during an appearance on CBS Mornings earlier this week, confirming rumors that had been swirling for months.
The Bronx-born superstar described herself as “excited” and “happy” while balancing her upcoming album release (Am I The Drama?, out September 19) and preparing for her first-ever headlining arena tour, Little Miss Drama, beginning in 2026.
Diggs also commented briefly on social media following the announcement, saying he hoped the couple’s baby would be a boy.
Diggs’ Family Background
If confirmed, Lopera’s child would be Diggs’ third. The Patriots receiver already has an 8-year-old daughter, Nova, from a previous relationship.
For now, Diggs’ camp has made it clear that genetic testing will be the deciding factor in this case. Until then, the NFL star will remain under intense public scrutiny as he balances legal disputes, fatherhood, and his relationship with one of the world’s biggest rappers.
