L. A. Reid was able to come to an agreement before a trial that takes place. L.A. Reid was accused of sexual assault by Drew Dixon, the two had known eachother from when working on music together back in early 2000’s at Artista Records. The trial was set to start this week in New York but the suit was first filed back in 2023, when Drew claimed L.A. Reid had violated her once during a flight and the next in his car. The trial was set in federal court and both were going to take the stands and it was a known trial, especially since it was under the Adult Survivors’ Act.
Drew Dixon’s attorney, Kenya Davis, said that this was a positive break in the case for it being settled. From L.A. Reid attorney, Imran Ansari, he states that Reid did not admit to anything and that it was settled on terms that were good for both. In the trial Jobn Legend was also suppose to testify about allegations that Dixon said he refused to sign the artist to the label as backlash to her refusing his sexual advances. Dixon also has another case against Russell Simmons for raping her back in 1995. The case is still ongoing and in the “discovery phase” and sued him for defamation of character.
