Jason Derulo recently was very upset after when a legal case brought against him had been brought to light again. When the sexual harassment case in October 2023, when a singer, Emaza Dilan accused him of sexual advances in promises of career opportunities she stated. As well, being forced to participate in obscure rituals that involved goat skin and fish scales. After she did not take on his sexual innuendos, he stopped wanting to help her with her career pursuits she explained. Jason Derulo spoke about this on an episode of In Depth with Graham Bensinger where he discussed and expressed frustration over a case that was dismissed twice and keeps being brought up again.
Jason spoke on the impact that it had not only on his life but also his career and growth and the negative consequences it had on him. After the case was thrown out in courts in California and Nevada and again was refiled in New York after a few days of the interview. It still effects him and his music and collaborations until today and how he has looked at in music. Jason Derulo was asked what he learned from this, and he responded, “Never work with women. I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again. There’s truth in every joke. But it’s a sad truth.” Again reiterating the turmoil he faced after, “That case was dismissed twice, And I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable.” This has stood too long with him and the false claims against him as well.
