DJ Enuff Believes Funk Flex Pushed Him Out From Hot97

After nearly three decades on HOT 97, DJ Enuff is officially out — and he’s hinting that Funkmaster Flex may have played a role in his departure.

The veteran DJ, known as “The Heavy Hitter,” says he was blindsided by the station’s decision, receiving no warning before being cut loose. The timing comes just days after Funk Flex shook the city by announcing his “last show,” only to reveal he was simply moving to a new 5–10 p.m. slot. That slot, according to Enuff, came at his expense.

Enuff described his farewell as an emotional moment, shedding tears as his wife and fellow DJs Drewski, E-Stylez, and Lady S stood by him. DJ Camilo also saw his role cut down to just one hour in what’s being called a major HOT 97 shakeup.

While Enuff admitted he has no hard proof, he believes Flex pulled strings behind the scenes — allegedly throwing a tantrum to secure his new slot. The two haven’t spoken since the firing. Enuff says he’ll let the situation breathe (and enjoy a Puerto Rican vacation) before reaching out, claiming he’ll be “the bigger man.”

The irony? Flex is the one who gave Enuff his start at HOT 97 decades ago. But if Enuff’s suspicions are right, their next link-up won’t be about celebrating memories — it’ll be about betrayal.

Now all eyes turn to Funk Flex’s revamped show launching next week, where the streets are waiting to see if he finally addresses the drama.
