How The Drama Started
The tension began when Azalea called out Akademiks for misrepresenting her comments about her ex, Playboi Carti, with whom she shares a son. She claimed that Ak and other outlets twisted her words, painting her as an “obsessed jealous ex.”
“I don’t want to be part of any Playboi Carti narratives,” she wrote online, adding that clips were being used out of context to drag her name.
Akademiks brushed it off with a dismissive “Whoopty Doo!” on X (formerly Twitter). Azalea fired back, asking him:
“That’s all you can say when your wrong I guess. The real question is why did you WANT it to be about that man’s asshole soooo bad? A question to ponder. Enjoy!”

In his post, he accused her of financing Tory’s team:

Ak later mocked her relationship history, saying she was still traumatized by Carti:
“I tried to give dis hoe a pass, she keep telling me bout the damn trauma of Playboi Carti pumping and dumping her ass like a meme coin.. btch u picked that n**a not me!”
