With sentencing just days away, Diddy has written a four-page letter to Judge Arun Subramanian asking for mercy, taking responsibility for his actions, and expressing remorse toward those he’s hurt.
Diddy’s apology
In the letter, obtained by Complex, the 55-year-old mogul wrote:
“First and foremost, I want to apologize and say how sincerely sorry I am for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct. I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs.”
He specifically apologized to Cassie Ventura and another ex-girlfriend identified only as “Jane” during trial testimony.
On Cassie:
“I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I’m sorry for that and always will be. My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry.”
On Jane:
“I thought I was providing for Jane concerning her and her child, but after hearing her testimony, I realized that I hurt her. For this I am deeply sorry.”
Reflection behind bars
Diddy said his behavior stemmed from “selfishness” while lost in drugs and excess. He described his year in prison as transformative:
“There have been some days I thought I would be better off dead. The old me died in jail, and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you—I choose to live.”
Plea for leniency
The mogul closed his letter with an emotional plea for mercy:
“I ask you for mercy today, not only for my sake, but for the sake of my children. I want another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life.”
What’s at stake
Diddy, incarcerated since September 2024, faces sentencing on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Each count carries up to 10 years, meaning the judge could sentence him anywhere between time served and 20 years.
- Prosecutors are pushing for 11 more years behind bars.
- Diddy’s legal team argues for time served.
- Diddy himself also plans to address the court at the hearing.
The sentencing will determine whether the Bad Boy founder remains incarcerated for over a decade more — or walks free much sooner.
