With Diddy just days away from learning his fate in federal court, Cassie has shared a powerful and chilling victim impact statement detailing the toll of his alleged abuse — and her fear of retaliation if he is released.
The Bad Boy mogul was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges in July after a month-long trial, but was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years, meaning Diddy could face up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing is set for October 3, 2025.
Cassie’s statement
In a letter included in the prosecution’s 164-page sentencing memo (obtained by Rolling Stone), Cassie urged the judge to recognize her lived experiences:
“While the jury did not seem to understand or believe that I engaged in freak-offs because of the force and coercion the defendant used against me, I know that is the truth. And his sentence should reflect the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim.”
She went on to voice her fear of retaliation:
“I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up about his abuse at trial.”
Trauma that lingers
Cassie, who testified at trial over the summer, described how years of alleged abuse have left lasting scars:
“Even today, I feel trapped in the mental and emotional patterns that he created. I live with chronic and severe PTSD, depression, and crippling anxiety.”
Another victim, an ex-employee identified only as “Mia,” also testified and echoed similar accounts of long-term trauma.
Prosecution vs. defense
Prosecutors have recommended a sentence of 11 years and three months, citing the severity of Diddy’s actions. Meanwhile, the defense is lobbying for leniency. Letters supporting Diddy have been submitted by several of his associates, including six of his seven children, Yung Miami, Stevie J, and Carl Thomas.
The final decision now lies with the judge, who will weigh the sentencing arguments on October 3.
