Cardi B is back — and she’s embracing all things pretty, petty, and pregnant. The Bronx superstar just dropped a new DIY-style video for her fiery track “Pretty & Petty” from Am I the Drama?, and it’s already got the internet buzzing.
Posting the clip on Sunday (Oct. 19), Cardi captioned it simply:
“Pretty & Petty… and pregnant.” 💅🏽🤰🏽
The visual, which looks like it was filmed either at home or in a private office, shows Cardi rocking a form-fitting polka-dot dress that highlights her baby bump while she performs the track with her signature confidence and sass.
Cardi’s Bars Hit Hard
Produced by DJ Swanqo, “Pretty & Petty” has been a standout from the album — peaking at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 — and it’s stirred major controversy for its pointed disses toward fellow rapper BIA.
Cardi doesn’t hold back, firing shots straight out the gate:
“Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head / Baow, I’m dead,” she spits before dramatically dropping to the floor in the video.
She continues with more jabs later in the track, taking aim at BIA’s looks and lack of award recognition:
“I’d rather die on the surgery table / ‘Fore I gotta walk around here lookin’ like you / You wanna beef with me, are you sure? / Do she even got a BET award?”
Cardi Plays Nice — Sort Of
Despite the track’s venom, Cardi previously said she held off on releasing the video out of respect for BIA’s album rollout.
“I’ma be nice to you because it’s your album day,” she said in an earlier clip. “I don’t want to add to your stress.”
BIA, who dropped her album BIANCA on October 10, later addressed the ongoing drama in a Billboard interview, saying she didn’t want negativity tied to her project.
“If I was to ever address it again, I would never attach it to my album,” she explained. “This is a beautiful body of work that I believe in. I wouldn’t want to disservice this and overshadow it with noise or negativity.”
The Visual Era of Cardi Continues
While the “Pretty & Petty” video may not be a big-budget production, fans are loving its raw and unfiltered energy, calling it a throwback to Cardi’s come-up era when she would drop freestyle clips straight from her phone.
The self-shot style also keeps the focus squarely where Cardi wants it — on her lyrics and her power.
As she continues her pregnancy and prepares for what looks like a new wave of music, Cardi’s making it clear: she can be glamorous, she can be messy, and she’s always going to be real.
