3 Dead, Nearly 20 Injured in Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting

A devastating tragedy struck Minneapolis this morning when a gunman opened fire during Mass at Annunciation Catholic School, leaving three people dead — including the shooter — and nearly 20 others injured, according to authorities.

The incident happened just after 8:30 a.m. local time, only two days into the new school year. Witnesses say the shooter, dressed in black and armed with a rifle, unleashed dozens of rounds through the church’s stained-glass windows before turning the weapon on himself.

Among the victims are at least two children, with several others in critical condition. Hospitals across the city, including Children’s Minnesota and Hennepin Healthcare, are treating multiple injured students and staff members.

Law enforcement evacuated the school and quickly established a reunification center for families. The FBI, ATF, and Homeland Security are assisting local police with the investigation.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the shooting as “horrific,” while President Donald Trump confirmed the White House is monitoring the situation.

This tragedy comes amid a wave of violence in Minneapolis, following another deadly shooting near a high school just yesterday. The community is reeling as families mourn, and officials search for answers.
