Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter has had a ongoing paternity test battle. From the start of it from December 2014, which is when it first started , it has been an ongoing ordeal that he has been fighting quietly. The plaintiff, who is Rymir Sattherwaite, from New Jersey, has said that Jay Z is his real father, a relationship with his mother Wanda Satterthwaitehad a relationship with the artist back in the 1990’s. He had tried many times to file for a paternity test, but only after he did a new lawsuit in court in May 2025, for “paternity confirmation and damages”.
In July 2025, the case having been dismissed and dropped by Satterthwaite. It is still unsure if Jay Z has actually taken a paternal test to prove it or not. There is no concrete evidence of the relationship or claims of fatherhood towards Rymir that has sown proof. Jay Z’s legal team claims that it is in fact a scheme to obtain money from Jay Z like a blackmail. While Satterthwaite only wanted to know who his real father was. The case has been officially dismissed and Jay Z and his team could not be more elated.
