Diddy has officially started serving his 50-month federal prison sentence — and fans are now seeing him for the first time since his September 2024 arrest. The Bad Boy mogul, whose real name is Sean “Diddy” Combs, was recently photographed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, marking his first public sighting in over a year.
The photo, obtained and released by TMZ, shows Diddy outside the facility’s yard area wearing a dark jacket and beanie, his face partially obscured by a grown-out gray beard. Though grainy and low-resolution, the image immediately drew attention online, with many noting how tired and aged the 55-year-old appeared compared to his last public appearances.
Before being transferred to Fort Dix, Diddy was held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn — a facility that made headlines earlier this year after reports surfaced of a fellow inmate allegedly threatening him with a knife while he slept. Sources close to the situation claim the move to Fort Dix was made for safety and stability reasons.
The new photo stands in stark contrast to Diddy’s once-glamorous image as a global entertainment mogul. His last major public sighting came during his dramatic arrest by federal agents in 2024, followed by sporadic courtroom sketches that showed a visibly grayer and more subdued version of the once-flamboyant producer.
Despite the challenges ahead, Diddy’s legal team insists they remain optimistic. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, recently told reporters he believes the rapper-producer could be released before his expected May 8, 2028 date.
“I think it’ll be sooner than that,” Agnifilo said. “There are a lot of variables. We just want to get him situated. He’s going to another facility, and I have no doubt he’ll be a perfect prisoner — and that he’ll get out as soon as the system lets him.”
In the meantime, Combs continues to face multiple ongoing civil lawsuits, including an amended assault filing from one of the witnesses tied to his earlier criminal case.
The newly surfaced image offers a rare glimpse into Diddy’s life behind bars — a sobering reminder of how far one of hip-hop’s most powerful figures has fallen.
