Armani White’s creativity might’ve crossed the line — literally. The Philadelphia rapper, best known for his viral 2022 hit “Billie Eilish,” was arrested in Kentucky on Sunday night after allegedly stopping traffic on Interstate 75 to film a music video.
According to the London Police Department, officers responded to multiple calls from drivers reporting a man dancing on the highway’s concrete median. When police arrived, they found White and his crew filming footage in the middle of the interstate, having pulled over their vehicle to stage the shoot.
Authorities said the stunt posed a major safety hazard to passing motorists.
The 27-year-old Def Jam artist — whose real name is Enoch Tolbert — was booked in Laurel County on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct and parking on a limited-access highway. He was later released from the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Viral booking photos showed White without his signature beaded hairstyle, which police reportedly required him to remove before taking his mugshot.
No Statement From Armani White or His Team
As of now, neither Armani nor his representatives have commented on the arrest. The rapper is currently on tour with T-Pain, though it remains unclear whether the incident will affect his upcoming shows.
The arrest comes during a period of continued momentum for White, whose breakout single “Billie Eilish” exploded on TikTok and went multi-platinum, earning him critical acclaim for his energetic performances and bold visuals.
Fan Reactions
Fans have been divided online over the situation. Some defended White’s artistic spontaneity, calling it part of his “creative freedom,” while others criticized the decision to film on an active highway as reckless and unsafe.
“Bro was just trying to make something viral — but that’s crazy dangerous,” one user wrote.
Another added, “That’s what makes Armani different. He pushes boundaries… sometimes too far.”
Despite the backlash, many supporters see the arrest as a minor bump in the road for a rapper known for turning chaos into creativity.
No further charges had been filed as of Monday. Whether this moment becomes another viral chapter in Armani White’s career or a cautionary lesson in creative limits remains to be seen.
