The tension between two of Hot 97’s biggest names — Funk Flex and DJ Enuff — is heating up.
After DJ Enuff’s emotional exit from the station after 27 years, he hinted in a TMZ interview that Funk Flex may have played a role in his departure. Though Enuff admitted he had no hard proof, he suggested Flex benefited from the shake-up that cut him loose: “I don’t think Flex is going anywhere. Flex is staying. He’s just going to a new shift. I don’t deserve that from him.”
Enuff’s send-off drew support from industry heavyweights like DJ Khaled and Fat Joe, who called his departure “sad.”
But Flex wasn’t about to let the speculation slide. Posting a screenshot of Enuff’s TMZ remarks, Flex fired back on social media with a warning:
Flex is set to move from his longtime 7 p.m.–midnight slot to a new 5 p.m.–10 p.m. show starting after Labor Day. His final late-night broadcast on Sept. 1 will double as his chance to address Enuff’s accusations directly.
Known for never backing down from controversy, Flex’s upcoming show is already shaping up as must-listen radio. Whether he clears the air or fans the flames, one thing’s certain: the Flex vs. Enuff saga is putting Hot 97’s behind-the-scenes shake-up front and center.
So far, DJ Enuff has not responded to Funk Flex’s latest warning.
