21 Savage says fans won’t have to wait much longer for his next studio album. During a recent livestream interview with DJ Akademiks, the Atlanta rapper revealed that he’s gearing up to drop new music soon.
“I swear I’m bout to drop, on God. I’m finna drop. I swear,” 21 told Ak, hinting that the project is imminent.
First album since American Dream
The project would mark Savage’s first album since American Dream, which released in January 2024 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 133,000 album-equivalent units. That record featured an all-star guest list including Doja Cat, Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Summer Walker, Brent Faiyaz, Burna Boy, Tommy Newport, Mikky Ekko, and Mariah the Scientist.
Fans react to 21 Savage’s announcement
Reaction on social media was mixed after the clip went viral. Some fans expressed fatigue, with one commenting: “N**a finna make the same song over and over like he been doing for years we good.”* Another added: “We don’t care, savage washed… Kendrick and The Clipse had a better year by the way.”
Others showed excitement, pointing to his recent feature on Young Thug’s UY Scuti album. “WE THERE HE JUST COOKED ON THUG ALBUM,” one fan wrote, referencing 21’s contribution to the track “Walk Down.”
Still no details on the new project
While 21 Savage has promised new music, he hasn’t shared a release date, title, or tracklist for the upcoming album. For now, all fans know is that it will be his fourth studio album, following the success of American Dream.
In the meantime, Savage has kept busy appearing on Thug’s UY Scuti alongside artists like Ken Carson, Cardi B, T.I., Lil Baby, Sexyy Red, Travis Scott, Future, and more. He also defended Thug for squashing his beef with YFN Lucci, writing on Instagram: “Yall want n**as to beef forever then say they ain’t appreciate they blessings if they get locked up for it. Shut yall bich ass up.”
Whenever it arrives, Savage’s next album is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated rap drops of 2025.
