Stephen A Smith Reveals Why He Left NBA Countdown

Stephen A. Smith is famously known as one of the most recognized faces in sports commentary and journalism. With his brutally honest remarks and opinions on all incidents that occur in sports. Also, angrily always checking people on the show “First Take” and does not shy away from sharing his opinions and combatting with others. Also being a commentator on NBA Countdown and SportsCenter. For working with ESPN for twenty two years, making quite a name for himself and persona of always willing to stick up what he stands for.

Recently, he has decided to leave NBA Countdown due to “being overwhelmed with all his ventures” after sharing it on his SiriusXM radio show, “Straight Shooter”. He also commented, “I had a contract negotiation last year that started in June and ended in March, going into April. It was decided at that particular moment in time that I wouldn’t be doing NBA Countdown anymore because I didn’t want to. I loved doing the show, but after the show is over, I got a whole bunch of other stuff that I gotta do and I didn’t want to be stuck in studio until midnight. No shade against ESPN, no shade against my wonderful colleagues,”. Showing his loyalty for his time with ESPN and career and love for the show and colleagues, he said that he would be available for the show when needed and would enjoy making appearances if they wanted.
