Abbott Elementary star and creator Quinta Brunson and her estranged husband Kevin Anik have reportedly reached a settlement in their ongoing divorce.
According to TMZ, Brunson filed new documents confirming that she and Anik have come to a written, mutual agreement on how to divide their property. The final step will be for a judge to sign off on the settlement to officially finalize the split.
Inside the divorce proceedings
Brunson first filed to legally dissolve the marriage in March 2025, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Court documents also revealed the couple entered into a postnuptial agreement outlining how their assets would be divided, with both parties agreeing to cover their own legal fees.
The pair married in October 2021, but Brunson kept her personal life extremely private. In fact, many fans were unaware of her marriage until she mentioned Anik during her 2022 Emmy Awards acceptance speech.
Brunson on keeping her personal life private
In a June interview with Bustle, Brunson admitted she’s frustrated with the public’s interest in her private life:
“Even if you don’t give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get. I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.”
She added:
“No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life — it’s just that that’s public record information. I hate all of it.”
What’s next for Quinta Brunson
At 35, Brunson is focused on continuing the success of Abbott Elementary while helping other creatives bring their visions to life. “Abbott has been so successful, and I want to use that success to get other people’s projects off the ground,” she told Bustle.
While her marriage to Anik is ending, Brunson appears determined to keep her personal matters private and focus on her career milestones moving forward.
