Hot 97's Summer Jam is less than a month away and while their lineup was announced to the public months in advance, it seems some updates have been made as of earlier this week. Fans excited about the event observed that Offset's name was missing from the official lineup, sparking curiosity and speculation.
About a month ago, Offset, originally slated to perform on the Summer Jam stage expressed to Hot 97's Nessa Nitty his excitement about his upcoming performance. During their discussion, the two touched on his upcoming solo act, and the Set it Off rapper stated "I'm not nervous, I'm excited. Man you know I love performing that's one of my favorite things about being an artist. I'm about to turn it up, You know I ain't finna play no games. No smoke." Nitty also asked for his views on performing with background dancers and performing in NYC. To that Offset responded he for sure has a newfound respect for artists who sing and dance and he knows NYC is a tough crowd but he's ready!
Currently, no official statement has been released regarding the reason for his dropout, so we aren't sure why the sudden change. Despite this, the celebration remains in full swing with artists hitting the stage such as Afrobeats star Davido, Sexyy Red, Doja Cat and company, Cash Cobain, French Montana and so many more.
